OVERVIEW
The Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D is a performance and high performance, winter tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs.
The tire has excellent winter weather traction thanks to the three different siping details used in its design and the silica-based tire compound. The shoulder 3D sipes and the Active traction sipes enhance the road gripping ability, while the pulling sipes located on the center tread area improve the handling. As a result, the tire has received the three mountain peak and snowflake symbol that notes the tire’s excellent performing and road gripping ability in severe winter weather. The directional tread pattern prevents hydroplaning situations by eliminating water from below the tire footprint. The better winter weather traction and hydroplaning resistance ensure a safer winter time driving experience.
The model also offers excellent comfort levels. The internal structure’s reinforced Jointless Band Technology places a spirally wrapped nylon cord on top of the steel belts to ensure exceptional durability. The tire does not deform under the driving pressure affecting it, as the internal structure maintains the optimal tire shape at all times. This allows the tire to closely follow the road surface, which lowers the road vibrations felt in the vehicle’s cabin. The maintained tire shape also evenly spreads the driving pressure out across the tread area, which enhances the tread life and tire usability.
The intermediate block sipes and the shoulder’s interlocking 3D siping design, along with the specific bead seat system, boost the tire’s handling. The special Active Traction siping detail and the center tread’s pulling sipes ensure a quick and safe braking ability. The SP Winter Sport 3D is made with a specific a sidewall design that protects the rims from accidental curb and other similar damages, by guarding the wheels at all times with the Max Flange Shield.
